AERO Past President Dave Midwood is currently training to take part in his second "Ride to Conquer Cancer".  Dave will be riding his bike for over 200 km (from Toronto to Niagara Falls) over two days, on June 12-13, 2010.

Over the past year, AERO has collaborated with the Ontario Education Research Panel (OERP) to further expand an online collaboration space.  Education Researchers from across Ontario (AERO members and Ontario Education Research Symposium participants) have been using this site to share resources and discussions. 

Building on the success of the collaboration space, AERO and the OERP have again collaborated to develop a Directory of Researchers for Ontario School Boards.  This new directory is currently available on the collaboration space and has been created to facilitate discussions between board researchers and enhance communication across the Education system.

Each year, students of Georgian College's Research Analyst Post-Graduate Program (RAPP) participate in internships.  RAPP is currently looking for organizations interested in hosting an intern to participate in research activities and projects for a 12 week period.  RAPP students have:

• * Strong interests in research
• * Quantitative and qualitative methods experience
• * Working knowledge of the latest in data capture technologies including PDA and on-line surveys, on-line focus groups
• * Background in fundamental and advanced statistical procedures
• * Talent with SPSS, Excel, Access and Powerpoint
• * Understanding of the ethical issues of social and marketing research

There are opportunities to host students for both the spring and fall intern sessions.
